  • Depression is more than just a low mood – it's a serious condition that affects children, teenagers, adults and older people.  CBT is a structured psychological treatment which recognises that the way we think (cognition) and act (behaviour) affects the way we feel. CBT is one of the most effective treatments for depression.Talking to a counsellor can help you change your thinking patterns and improve your coping skills so you're better equipped to deal with life's stresses and conflicts. An anxiety condition isn't developed or caused by a single factor but a combination of things. Effective treatment helps you learn how to control your anxiety so it doesn’t control you.

  • My commitment to Family counselling has been both in private practise and NGO agencies. Using narrative therapy skills I listen to find out the impact of the situation on their lives. Some children have differentiating issues and concerns. I look for the child's strengths which then empower them. I often use written material and ask the children to write down their feelings in order to dispose of these negative thoughts. Many children have been holding on to these thoughts and they have become stuck, causing depression, anxiety and other negative feelings and behaviours.
